This blew me away

*gasp*

Makes so many of the sculptural "origami"-style dresses of the 80s look downright tawdry in comparison. And I love the confident air she has that makes it possible to pull off that look. What a show-stopper.

Sue, you are a dear. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to no one with that blog.
I just started the First Lady a Day series. This will actually make me blog every day for awhile!

I really like the series of posts you have going right now on the 1st ladies.
Mamie and her pink, she loved pink....

Babe Paley's dress is awesome, but I really like the lavender dress Mrs. Roosevelt wore to the inauguration.

Can't wait to read more.

On an Amercan Experinece (PBS) they had a feature on Eleanore Rosavelt

There was a time when she went to school in Paris and she dresses amazing. They showed a picture of her mother who was a beauty and she had this most amazing necklace on then a few minutes into the show they show Eleanore wearing it in the 50's.

Anna Hall Roosevelt was a society beauty. Eleanor never had that, but there are some lovely photos of her as a young woman in school. And her clothes were always good quality.
