this is not an immediate need but... 70s trousers (or pants)

Not right this miunte as I have been instructed to Sell not Spend (but it's sooo hard not to buy things when you develop an overwhelming urge...)

I would like a pair of really very 70s cuffed trousers, probably wool - you know the sort that are usually in wacky plaid.

I would probably prefer something muted and a darker colour rather than really gaerish (sp?), and they need to be about a 26 or 27" waist, 38" minimum hip, and I am a pretty shortlegged so about a 30" inseam.

No rush, just throwing it out there for now (too hot to wear them for a few months yet :) )
 
Harriet, I now have loads of 70's slacks, many in plaid or houndstooth or other checked-type patterns, many cuffed, with wide waistbands and short inseams. Not sure if I have any with the right hip & waist dimensions, but as I sort thru the boxes of stuff, I'll keep my eyes open!
 
Thanks Anne! it's always the insem i have trouble with, as I wear flat shoes most of the time and everything seems to be made a good bit longer on the inseam than I can wear. I had thought about taking things up but with the fixed cuffs it's to much of a pain...

Harriet, I am just now getting to my boxes of slacks from that estate lot I bought, and there are quite a few wools & wool blends. Many of them have the shorter inseam, as I think the designer was herself short, and anything she had made for her own wardrobe was shorter. Her model samples are long, but I have quite a selection of ones that seem to be in your size range. I haven't pulled any out yet; so busy with dresses & suits-but as I sort next week, I'll pull out anything that looks as if it might be suitable, and let you know! There are some cuffed ones that are just flared a bit, which look very nice with flats, and some that are true bell bottoms.

Did you see the Jeff Banks ones that I have in the men's section of C&C? They are small man's size but a woman could wear them too: c. 1975, wide legged, wool, dark brown, inseam 31 1/2, plus they have been reduced to £9.99 and free shipping :D
