It is green suede, from what once was a high end tailor store

The tailoring tag states 1976, but I was thinking the lapels would have been wider.

Do you think it is earlier and then possibly someone had it tailored after that?

It does look like a late 70's style, the lapels were not always wide.

*** One of the things men did, with tailored things, they had a style they liked, and got it made over and over.*** this makes it doubly hard to date!

The label, on the right side(in picture) Series, above that will be copyright ****, it should read 1969
 
the other confusing thing is some larger department stores/midrange stores that might have appealed to more conservative dressing men may have carried a style for a longer period of time if a good seller - and just like today, there could be a lag time between high end and discount. As far as midle range dept stores, i found a sharkskin suit from Sears from 1968 that you would have thought was early 60s because of the cut.
