I found this passage in a wonderful 1955 Good Housekeeping booklet "How To Remove Stains". It was in a pile of patterns I purchased. I would love to make copies and have it available for anyone who wants one. It is chock full of useful information.

I always thought the fading on rayon garments happened from many years of storage but now I see some of it probably happened within the time it was first worn.
