We are clearing out a house and found this coat.
What do people think? Is this vintage/of interest to people?
We’d love info about what people think and any advice of what to do next!
Any advice taken!

it is absolutely valuable and very attractive! you may want to see if you have any vintage clothing shops near you, and then see if they accept consignments. by the way, this is our Vintage Fashion Guild member directory of brick and mortar shops, separated by country, we may have a member near you who may (or may not) accept consignments.

or, possibly find an online vintage shop located near you that would be interested in consigning it for you. This is the main page of our directory which includes online shops; members are sorted by country in this section also.

good luck with it!

It's very pretty! Their use of the words "Persian Fabric" raises the possibility that this may be Faux (aka not real) Persian lamb. That might be a plus in today's world - a lot of folks don't wear fur anymore for ethical reasons, even vintage fur. And old furs often get dry and brittle over the decades unless they are in temp and humidity controlled storage.

Beautiful lining. It may be real fur at least on the collar. Take it to a furrier and have them check it out. This may be sought out coat for vintage lovers.

Looks like genuine Persian lamb to me (I am no expert though :)), A furrier will certainly know.

When it says “clean by furrier process” or sometimes “method” it usually means it is not real fur
That's what I was thinking too. If the lining is not stitched to the outer coat at the hem, you may be able to get a look at the backside of the outer coat - if it is faux, dense fabric, usually knitted. Real lamb will look like unfinished leather on the back.

It's harder to tell from the "right" side, but if you use two fingers to separate some curls under a good light - with magnifier if possible, you should see a bit of the base, which will either look kind of like suede (real) or fabric (fake).

A real persian lamb coat also usually weighs much more than the faux version.

I agree it is faux lamb. The fake lamb can be amazingly realistic.

Just wondering if the brown fur (stone martin, maybe?) can be removed easily and how the coat would look without it, or with something else laced through the slits. It is a wonderful style, nice and long.
