Thrift coat no labels. trying to figure out who made or when this coat was made? Zero labels. Does not have a designer label or size label.

You have a good eye for thrifting. Congratulations on such a great find!

If you wouldn't mind ... what part of Ohio are you from? I hail from Beaver Falls in the very Western part of Pennsylvania.

My grandparents lived in Youngstown for several years after they immigrated to the US from Germany in the late 1800s. They ended up in Beaver Falls after a series of job moves. When I'm home visiting, I sometimes go thrifting in Boardman. And when I was a teen, my friends would often sneak over the border into Ohio to drink alcohol - lower drinking age, as I recall.

Anyway, welcome to the VFG. I hope you'll continue to stay connected and let us know about any more of your great vintage finds.

Hi, my mom bought this fur coat from a reputable fur shop in NYC during the 80s. We are thinking of selling it. Can anyone help me to identify who made this coat and possibly a reputable dealer to sell it to in the SF bay area?

Hi MomsFur,
Pretty coat. The signature was monogrammed on the lining to identify who the coat belonged to at the time. The maker of the coat would only be known if there were a furrier or maker label present or if the hind side of the pelts were stamped. Knowing the name of the furrier would be insignificant when determining value.
If we can help you learn more about this coat, or other vintage fashion you can post a new thread or threads here. :)
Before selling you will want to feel through the coat in entirety, make sure there are no areas of fur loss, seam separations under the fur, in the armpit area, along the pocket edges, and check the lining too.
Many of our members here offer vintage fashion. Some offer online, some offer in person. We are all happy to educate and learn about vintage fashion here.
If you are looking to pass any of your vintage fashions along, you can find a list of our members who have physical store locations here, and if you click on any of the venue links listed here, you can find members who also offer items online :)
