Title Help: Fashions of Summer 1945

I have this great Ladies Home Journal mail order pattern that I have been hanging onto...

It includes verbal instructions on how to make the lace trimmed shawl and the fan (the fan form was ordered through LHJ, but I am sure that someone can make their own - the way to finish it is included). Plus it includes directions on making a tambourine purse, and an uncut printed pattern for a sizeless summer blouse with peplum.

EXERPT: Now is the time to ransack the trunks in the attic, to rummage in the "Thrift Shops" for old fans and parasols., for Summer 1945 sees these "beautiful Lady" touches in new garb!"

There is so much to say about it here, but I am trying to edit it all down into one title! Do people "know" the acronym LHJ for Ladies Home Journal? I also have noticed that many folks do not put "pattern" in the title of things? Am I wasting space with it?

I've noticed that about patterns also (re the title), so I think I would go with the flow and save the letters. Not sure if
people would know what LHJ stands for on its own.

This pattern is wonderful and I love that excerpt! So cool that they were talking of going thrifting then!

As for title help, totally blank here - sorry.

me too...just didn't know if people searched for it or cared.(LHJ)

This would be good to see for all the people who keep wanting to sell shawls by the "jessica" method....

so far i am thinking:

40s Peplum blouse, tambourine purse shawl, fan
sub: summer of 1945, sizeless blouse LHJ

but that is just so far.

Hey...imagine what would have been in thrift stores in the 40s. vintage to them would have been turn of the century, 1920s, etc. Maybe the whole thrifting thing came into vogue because of war rationing, etc.

I launched this. I cut the word "pattern" out and just crammed in all the different "topics" and kept it in the vintage sewing category. well, we shall see what happens!
