\"Topaz Original\" Dress--early to mid 60s?

Need help, please, dating this.... Metal zipper down back, AFL-CIO ILGWU label. Nice-quality, heavy satin around neckline & tunic portion of skirt. Fabric in great condition, but looks "older" than the tags look (maybe worn little but not stored well?) Great size on this--about a 42" bust--and looks much better "on." Fits me perfectly but for the length, or I'd keep it in a heartbeat; can't shorten 'cuz of that overskirt & hemline. My photos, unfortunately, don't do it justice.... Jet black, but I've lightened some to show detail.

hello! it's a very nice dress, i love the overskirt. i am terrible with dating things but i would agree with your early 60's thought. but am ready to defer opinion to those in the know!!
 
I'm wondering if this is a cusper? Late 50s/early 60s. It almost has a
modified 'sack-dress' look to it.

Thak you, both! My first thought when I bought this was late 50's, but after seeing the condition of the lining & tags, I thought it must be more recent. So, when I list it, I'll call it late 50s/early 60s! I may get a "live" model for this, as it is just so much nicer in person than on my manni!;)
