Tokyo Street Style
Tokyo Street Style or “Harajuku" refers to the fashion district around Tokyo's Harajuku train station. It is the center of Japan's most extreme teenage culture and fashion. These looks rarely conform to one particular style and are usually a mesh of many. Best represented by flamboyantly dressed, fashion-obsessed young women and men expressing themselves in a very unique manner; mixtures of punk & sweet, Gothic, Aristocrat, Cosplay and classic Lolita styles abound.
Mixing patterns and textures with hugely creative intent is the typical Tokyo Street Style mindset. Think: crinolines/petticoats, cupcake dresses, 50s dresses, 60s dresses, prom dresses, prairie dresses, funky hats, leather jackets, platform shoes, anything striped, top hats, faux fur, plush, novelty prints, puffy coats, novelty jewelry, plaids and anything bright and colorful!
