traditional highland dress - velvet doublet

I have no picture just yet, as this is something I'd sell at the antiques centre rather than online.

Just wondered if any Scots where around (Rosine?) that could advise, I have a black velvet doublet, that I think is traditional evening dress, or possible for dancing.

It's doubled breasted - buttons form an almost 'v' shape, with 6 silver metal clan buttons (don't ask me which!) on either side and also 3 on each cuff. It would hit at the waist, and has large sewn in (after the fact, they don't look professionally done) 'eyes' that I assume would attach to hooks on the kilt. That's why I thought maybe highland dancing - or maybe just happened to be used for it. I think the correct name is a Montrose doublet.

Here's a link to a similar one (I just have the jacket, not the outfit):

It is older velvet but not ancient. It has that pale pink acetate type lining that I associate with the 60s/70s.

Question is, how do I price it? I am sure there are tons of secondhand items of this nature floating around north of the english border, but it's the first I've seen in lincolnshire :D and am completely clueless..

Thanks for any advice!
