Hello hello,

Anyone here who has some knowledge about suitcases? Ive looked on the web but no sign of the the brand written.

Would really appreciate if anyone could date or know the brand.

The item is not leather. Its a kind of plastic with a faux leather texture. On the inside, when I flipped the ribbon trims on the side theres some glue and cardboard.

thanks in advance!

good morning!

I've never seen "smile" as a luggage brand, but the shape of the suitcase, the lining and the clasps all look 1960s to 1970s to me.
I agree with the shape looking like 60’s to 70’s. But yeah cant really find the “smile” brand. So im just hoping its not a reproduction to look like a certain age.

but the feel, age seemed tested by time already.

the quilted lining suggests early, but i just now noticed the clasps for the inside, that is a (much?) later clasp instead of a sliding D ring or just a simple hand tie, so you're right that it may possibly be a retro/repro line.

also, the older suitcases often had pockets with elasticized tops lining the sides, too; I don't see them any in yours.
