Trying to date this short Vanity Fair nightie... Early 60s?

I recently acquired this aqua VF nightie ( is it called a baby doll, or something else?), made of Antron nylon and lace. Looks like early 60s to me, but I'm not good with nightgowns, so would very much appreciate any help. Thanks!

I would call it a babydoll because of the length, but would place it a bit later in the 60s. Nightdress rather than night gown, which would indicate full or longer length to me.

Sorry to disagree Melanie- but I think its later myself- more late 60's, and if it buttons all the way through, would actually be a peignoir or a brunch coat.
Babydoll usually means much shorter, usually worn with matching bloomers, shorts or panties.
Its very pretty- love the colour!

Thank you both! So maybe I can just say 60s.... It does not button through, the buttons are just decorative, and are covered with a layer of the aqua nylon AND a layer of lace! So -- I thought it was a nightgown, it comes down to mid-thigh on me and I'm 5' 7". Sorry about the blurry label pic and the sideways other pic.

Gayle I also said I thought it was later, but I think you meant on the length - for me that would be very short - but I'm tall so pillowfightemoti
I thought it only buttoned at the top there? I never thought more might be hidden.

I get it- :) but safer to go with 'Nightgown' or 'Negligee' I reckon, as its still too long for for a babydoll in my book pillowfightemoti
