Trying to identify the name of these design patterns on fabric.

Can anyone tell me what the design pattern of these 2 fabrics is? The first 2 pictures are of really sheer purple silk background with a more opaque weave within the silk background. Is this what is called "burnout?"

The second 2 pictures shows what looks like a 3D, highly raised (almost like very small, short pleats) purple silk with green stitches in the ridges. What is this called?

Thanks so much for your help.

Is it possible to see the entire garments?

This is a very interesting jacket/skirt set with the label Collection Jeanne Marc that I'm pretty sure is from the 80s. The style is unique and so is the fabric. It is very, very soft with many textural layers. The skirt has the burnout pattern, but it's kind of hard to see in this picture.

Here is another picture of the skirt with the shell held up to the light and the purple lining next to it.

Is there a reason that couldn't be called Devore silk? or do you have to have reason to be believe the original technique was used?
I would call the second a woven pencil pleat effect, not a technical term at all, but that's how it appears to me.

I don't really need the original technique when I list this, but I wanted to use terms that would be familiar to a wide population of vintage and non-vintage buyers. I really like your description of woven pencil pleat effect for the jacket. I hope you don't mind if I use that in my listing.

Thanks to both of you for your help. You've been wonderful!

And I apologize for the error in this material. I just found a material tag in the suit and it is not silk, but rather polyester. Most of the items in this estate were 100% silk and since I couldn't find a tag, and from the softness in the feel, I had thought it was silk also. I'm so sorry for the confusion.

no problem, I got the pencil pleat name from the curtain tape that gives the same effect, you could still call it devore or burnout I believe but obviously make sure the buyer is aware it's polyester.
