Two Hats. 1930s or Earlier?

I have two more hats from my sister's collection and am hoping for help with dates and details. No labels or other identifying information. And I'm not sure if I am showing them with the correct orientation, especially the one with the green velvet bow.

I am including an image of each on a model, shot from top down and the interior view. Please let me know if you would like to see additional images.
Many thanks,
Alice

Hi,

Interesting. The first, small black one looks to be what was called a Fanchon, popular in the mid Victorian era, 1860s and 1870s roughly, and they usually had trailing ribbons or streamers, flowers, etc, but not always. They were quite small, very lightweight, and usually triangular shaped as yours looks to be. I cannot be 100% sure it IS a Fanchon, as I would need to see it relative to a human head. But it sure looks like one.

The second hat is also Victorian, and from the photos looks to be late 1870s-1880s but I cannot tell from just a photo. You have it on backwards, and the bow goes in back at the bottom of the hat, and the bonnet is missing its ribbon ties. I cannot tell if the trims are original to the hat or were added later. It has a sort of home made or re-done effect to it. That particular acid green color was popular for hats in the 1890s, so perhaps it was redone at that time, but that is impossible to tell.
