Two items, 20s or 30s or 40s I kinda give up!

Hi all,

I have two items that I just can not place in terms of era.

My thoughts are the little embroidered silk garment in 1930s?

details - super soft silk, very very delicate pastel embroidered flowers and scallop detailing the stitching appears to be hand done but it is really tight and well constructed, obviously no tags and no elastics though the sleeve has a nice delicate puff

The pink dress I am guessing very early 1930s (but I could be so so wrong on this one)

details - short cc meal zipper painted matching very soft powder pink as the garment at the back neck, also short side sipper, super soft and super fine cotton, embellished crochet lace detail at the neckline, belt hoops, appears machine sewn, again no tags.

The first garment has three pin-sized scattered holes. The dress is in really really incredible condition, can't find any flaws.

Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

1 - looks like there may have been elastic in the sleeves, that now needs replacing. I'll go with '40s bed jacket.
2 - 1940s dress, looks like the hem has been taken up but you could let it down again if you wanted it to be more original.

I will go back over the bed-jacket and see if it looks like there was elastic but I remember thinking it looked like there wasn't and that that was odd because of the construction of the sleeve. Do they look early or late 40s to you?

I think Nicole may well be right about that deep hem. I'd think late 40s, or even early 50s on the dress.

For future reference is that short neck zipper common in garments from the 50s? when did that start happening and when did it end?

Also this is the first garment I have ever had that has the neck and the side zippers. Did that happen often?

I have seen the short back zipper along with a side zipper quite often on 40s and 50s dresses.

I would put this dress in the 50s.
