union label help?

I have a dress that has a union label in it, (no other labels) which I've detemined from the label resource dates the dress from 1963 to 1974.
However, the tag also has printed numbers on it, I'm just wondering if they have any meaning, or can be used to further narrow down a date for the dress?
Any info appreciated!!

Yes, photos of the dress would help greatly!

As far as I've ever been able to tell, the numbers on a Union label don't relate in a meaningful way (or in a way anyone can properly translate ) to date. I "think" I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that the numbers related somehow to the local or regional Union shops the items were made in, rather than a universal Union-wide code of some sort. So, they may indicate a timeline of some sort, but not uniformly. If that makes any sense, and, of course, I could be remembering wrong. And there's probably somebody here who knows more than I do, so hopefully someone will come along and clarify, correct, or add more information.

The style of the dress itself will be much more help in narrowing down the date range!

Ok, here's pics of the label and the dress...the label is sewn into the zip seam, making it really hard to photograph, hope there's enough there to see!
The bodice is made of an embossed velvet, lined with a satin fabric, and the skirt seems to be some sort of crepe or double georgette, lined with a cotton looking fabric. The zip is metal and the seams inside are unfinished (no overlocking or binding).
Pretty sure, from the style, it would be early half of the 60's, but please correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks for any help!!

Sorry, couldn't get the dress the right way around!!
I should also add that there are no other labels in the dress at all.

Thanks for the answers! I did wonder about the hem, it hasn't been shortened very well - the outer fabric is a bit longer and kind of 'balloons' over the lining a bit, but I think I'll leave it as is...don't want to mess it up trying to fix it up!

Cathy, for best results the dress could be rehemed separately from the lining, and by hand - that's probably why it's buckling as it is, the two have been sewn together. It's not a quick job so if you're probably right to leave as is.

Yes, my thoughts exactly ... but I hate unpicking...if I was going to keep it I would go to the trouble but unfortunately the dress is tiny, and I'm not :(
