Anyone know the approx. Value or date?

Ah, my home town department store! I'd say the neat little flat bow and overall look dates the bag to the early 60s.

I'm with Maggie on this -- early 60's.

Value, unfortunately, is TOTALLY subjective. Were this in my shop I'd probably price it in the $15 to $20 range - black evening clutches from this period are fairly common around here.

And not to hijack the thread, does anyone know how Frederick and Nelson started?

I'm in Portland, and I thought they were as Portland (Oregon) as Meier and Frank!
