Vanity Fair robe with interesting embroidery

Hi guys!

I've had this forever, and haven't seen anything else like it and deal with a fair amount of Vanity Fair. I checked and didn't see anything in the lingerie guide, so maybe someone reading this will have seen it before. Everything about the robe looks 70s to me (I'm more of a fan than an expert though) but just have not seen these cute little people details in my travels. The cuffs and the collar have it.

Hi Maltby, I'll go '60s for this one, plus it looks like the hem has been taken up so it was probably longer originally - and perhaps with a matching nightgown? Cute robe.

It looks more like 60s to me and I would say the lace has been added to it.

Good point Mary Jane - I agree. Also, it looks like a crochetted lace, not an embroidery.

I'm not a lace expert but I believe it may be a form of Cluny lace.

ah! added lace makes a lot of sense. Upon closer inspection it does look like that's the case. Great insight, thanks everyone!
