Vemist by Stroock

Hi, I'm new here. So happy to have found this forum site!

I've inherited two gorgeous coats from my grandmother. Does anyone know what "Velmist by Stroock is made of?" The coat is a black heavy soft material with black fur collar and cuffs. I have no indication if the fur is real or faux and cannot find what Velmist is made of.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Happy Holidays,
Marisa

Hi Marisa,
I've handled many Stroock coats - always a pleasure, as they're wonderfully soft and luxurious.

Stroock created their own luxury fabrics, which were blends of Camel, Cashmere, Llama, Alpaca, Vicuna, etc. They gave them unique names - which can make determining the fiber content challenging. If you do a search for "vintage Stroock advertisements" on Pinterest or Google, you might get lucky as their ad text usually described the fiber content.
