Victorian / Edwardian purse???

Awful images I know, and I will be re-doing them. I acquired this as a Victorian purse - but I think it is actually more Edwardian? It is black faille decorated with glass beads, a rose motif in glass beads, and glass bead trim/tassles. Lined in a purple silk. The handles look like a dark ivory, but are plastic of some sort with a simple metal rivet each side to hold the 'cross bar' in place......it looks and feels like a thick celluloid - how can I tell for sure??<p>

There is a heat test for celluloid involving using a hot pin to prick it, but i always hesitate with that type of thing. There is also some other test, but i cannot think of it at the moment....
