I have no idea but I just love old sewing notions and kits. Could you put drawstring purse sewing kit?:puzzled:
 
Perhaps fit in the phrase "sewing notions" bag/purse? It's not a notion persay, but that may get your sewing collectors' heads turned.

Oh, and IT'S SOO CUUUTTTTEEE!

I have no idea why, but for all its style, I just don't get a Victorian feel for this - probably because I remember making the same needlecase-booklets at school in the 50s!
 
That's interesting! I always associated the "Housewife" with the military man, and didn't realize the term was more widely used.
