Vintage 50\'s Shoes - How to tell size?

I just love these green shoes! I found them in Palm Springs along with a bunch of others and brought them back home with me. (Yes I go yard saling on my holidays)_They are 10 inches measured inside from heel to tip of pointed toe. They measure just over 2 3/4 inches across at widest point. There is no size listed on these but for starters I am 7.5 and my foot won't go in at all so these are at largest size 6.5, I am guesing - but I wish I knew for sure because Im selling them on Ebay. The inside has a number - 265 7979. Does the number mean anything?

I go thrifting on all my holidays too!
I think I can help you with the shoes.
The first series of numbers 265 is the width and size.
2 being the width as in a B width
65 is the shoe size being 6 1/2
7979 is the series/model number of the shoes.
