Vintage 80s or early 90s Burberry vest?

I have been doing reseach on this vest. I have not been able to find any Burberrys labels with a blue s. I also don't know if this is a late 80s style or even 90s (thus maybe making it an early vintage piece). Any Burberry assistance would be deeply appreciated. I did look at the label source, and contacted Burberry (which they were really unable to assist). Thanks for your time and any help. Picture of the vest and labels

The buttons are brown and weaved. I can't tell what they are made of. I have been advised that some are leather, but these appear to be made of a harder substance.

It looks like its circa 1990 to me....

Is the blue S actually WOVEN in blue or has it been coloured by some kind of marker pen, I cant really tell from the pic. A lot of stores will mark the label with indelible ink when it goes on end of season sale or to an outlet or discount store so that the retailer knows that full price wasnt paid if somebody wants to return it..as far as I can see it looks like its marker as the blue carries on to the right and you can see it on the white border as well..

I'm sure its the real McCoy and l suspect the woven S denotes an export line...HTH

looks to me like someone tried to make the older "Burberrys" label look like a newer "Burberry" one....and did a bad job at it, hahahaha
 
l also thought it may be a 'sale' marker....

and what you say about burberrys makes me smile, l lent my daughter my cashmere bruberry classic scarf... circa 198-81 and she recently stopped wearing it..l asked her why...and she said her friends told her it was a fake...

smiling...'interesting', l told her..tell them thats very strange, as no way its a fake...I was a buyer and regularly bought from the show room on the 5th floor in Regent street, for my fashion dept...so that means all the deliveries were FAKE eh?? as are all MY own Burberry items ..they know so much the young....LOL
