Vintage Bonnet Identification

Any help dating and describing this hat would be much appreciated.

It's difficult to tell from the photos provided (need some larger well-focused close-ups), but I'm inclined to think that it's a home-decorated costume piece like this:

I agree with Donna that we need better photos, including close ups, in order to attempt to date it. The lack of any interior finishing such a head size ribbon, lining, etc) and the obviously new trims lead to also agree that this may be a costume piece.

Can you determine what kind of felt it is? Is it wool felt or is it fur-felt( which is very soft and pliable)? Is there any evidence that an interior ribbon was removed, such as stitches or stitch marks? This style was around in the late 30s and 40s, sort of a cross between a bonnet and a military cap, but yours has more of a repro look to it.
