Vintage brooch

I know very little about vintage jewelry.

Can you please help me date this brooch? There are no markings but there are pictures!

Linn, you know a lot more about jewellery than I do so I bow to your knowledge - what is it about this that looks forties to you? I've seen similar ones new in the '80s and '90s and this one does not look "old" to me so I'm curious. Thank you.

This is a very "typical" '40's Retro Style brooch. It is similar to this one that I have listed on RL - although mine is marked Sterling:

thanks for your response Linn - it looks more silver on my monitor, which was also throwing me off. It can be hard to date things without seeing them in your hand, I find jewellery sometimes particularly hard.
