Vintage Coat Fur Fox Label California

Jet black short nap of 1/2 inch or so on this vintage coat.

Fox label as shown from California.

Any help with the fur greatly appreciated in advance. Very shiny and very soft.

It also has an elastic loop to go around the top button.

In the middle at the waist there is an elastic loop on each side.

What could of been there as it is gone now?

The fur type is rabbit sheared and dyed to look like seal.

My best guess regarding the elastic loops would be that the loop on one side was intended to attach to a button inside and the loop on the other side was intended to attach to a button on the outside. The furrier would have waited to add the buttons to fit the wearer but the wearer chose not to have the buttons at the waist added.
