Vintage Coat information

Hi! I have a GORGEOUS vintage rabbit fur coat that I am looking to sell. I took it to a place in San Diego (looking to sell because there isn't a real NEED for a fur coat here!) and the lady I spoke to said that my coat has an ivy embroidered box pattern. She was very vague on the details but said that patterns like this were used for a year and then put to rest for seven to ten years and that this one was probably some time in the 30s/40s because it was ivy.

I am looking to get a little more information/history about this so that I can mention it as a sales point for my coat.

If anyone can help me with information about these box patterns, that would be great!!!! I will try to get a picture up of the pattern and the coat to see if anyone can give me more information.

Hi DanaM and welcome to the forums.

Do you mean it has a patterned lining or is the "ivy embroidered box pattern" in the fur itself? I can't help you as I have no idea what this is but if you can post good, clear pics of the coat - preferably being worn so we can see the silhouette - we can help you date it. If you have any info/photos of labels, lining, buttons etc that will help too.

i will get a pic up. The embroidery is in the lining. It's a nearly floor length coat - the lining on the inside is just really neat - it adds that little extra pizzazz to the coat! It also has some really gorgeous buttons on it with wire detailing that hook together instead of going through a buttonhole.
