Ooo, gorgeous fabric! It's a nice thick herringbone twill (https://vintagefashionguild.org/resources/fabric/?_search_resources=herringbone#resource_items-1)
To me the style looks 1980s.

Thank you for the link - had thought 1980's, it's thick & heavy - lining is all perfect it does have a belt but no loops.... not bad for £1
