Vintage couple

It looks right at the turn of the century to me, perhaps 1899-1900? THe girl appears to be a teenager, perhaps around 16? Her skirt is too short for a woman, unless she was in a sports costume, like cycling, riding, or hiking, but she's not.
 
It's interesting...I pulled out my great-grandparents' wedding photo and it appears to be of similar vintage. That was in 1905, I believe. She was a mail-order bride and 13 years old.

Hope that year might help the mystery of the age of the photo. Thanks for sharing.
