I will take

1) the multi colored Hermes Kelly

2) that deep green number (i think the color would be fabulous!)

3) the Christian Dior wool coat.

Can you wrap it up for me right now? I'll pick it up in the morning.

Oh, I'm sorry miss, but the Hermes Kelly Bag was just purchased by Ms. Valdes-Marsh.
:D

HEE HEE

Not in GREEN and ORANGE you didn't. I have MATCHING SHOES!!! I will let you have any other color though.

Oh well, i guess I snooze and loose and will just have to "settle" for the Pucci, the Dior, the Oscar de La Renta, and throw in the 30s gown for good measure. I might just get over it.

I really love the red satin Oscar dress!! That's just too gorgeous!

and, ok whinny baby. you can have the kelly bag. geez, throw a tantrum would ya!!

:P

:bisou:

You crack me up, Maureen.

Oh..but if you insist.....

well, I don't have $8,000 right at the moment to allocate for a new purse, so i will just have to live vicariously, ms money bags.

:P

One of you is going to have to settle for the red one.

It's an interesting sale, and if I were a Geoffrey Beene collector, I'd be there for sure.

Is this Hindman's first fashion sale? The estimate pricing seems to be a bit irregular, with many items under-valued, and then some seemingly over-valued.

I just thought it was a bit odd that no-label 60s evening items were valued at up to $600, when that wonderful Gernreich pant set (lot 126) was valued at only $200-400. And that 60s Cardin, Ungaro and Beene were valued less than the 80s stuff.

I want lot 42, one of the Givenchy suits. Didn't Audrey Hepburn wear one just like this in "How to Steal a Million" or "Charade?"

Also interesting, the Betsey Johnson Paraphernalia cape (51). How cute is that? And that Jo Copeland (22) dress is wonderful.

Is anyone going?

This is going to be on eBay live, and the listings are up.

I had a time finding them because they are not in the vintage category; she put them in Antiques - Decorative Arts, for some reason.

At any rate, if you do go punkylyn, and have time to report back before the auction starts, I'd love a condition report on lot 42. I've email them asking to see the label, but have not yet heard back.
