Just purchased a linen print sheath dress with "Elle" as the label. The label also states " created in France - now made in the USA" Attached is a photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have searched online for any reference to this label and have not found anything. I am looking for a history and/or just general information about this clothing line. Is this label associated with the magazine with the same name? Thanks!

I wouldn't think so, Elle means 'Her' in French, and seeing the french flag on the left and the fact it was a french brand I would have thought it was a generic name.

It would help to see more of the garment than just the label, so we can see what era they were working in.

I think the dating of this dress would be 1960's due to the sheath silhouette, the construction and the fabric. The fabric is a high quality linen.

The fabric is such a beautiful linen and I have been unsuccessful locating anything about this label. The dress was purchased at an estate sale in Columbus, Ohio USA and the other dresses all had high end labels that I was able to research and determine era and value. This one has me stumped!
