I tried looking on fabric resource but could not find one that would apply. So i am coming to you guys. Trying to get more info about this fabric and then It would make it easier to figure out the proper care for it.
Its a little stiff fabric. Color wise looks like heathered brown. Not solid. And the back has a slippery kind of foiled feel to it. Is it some kind of cotton blend? Thank you for looking.

It looks very much like a spun rayon. If you can do a burn test on a little snip of fabric, or a few threads from the hem or seam, that should tell you if there is any synthetic in there with the rayon, such as acetate. Rayon-acetate was popular for dresses as it gave a slight sheen and some structure/stiffness to the fabric. I see what looks like tiny "hairs" in the fiber weave, so perhaps there is some wool in there.

Let's see what others think. Hard to be sure without actually handling it or seeing it in person.

Velvetpinvintage, there are a few different fabrics that look like this so composition will be key: I recommend a burn test. From the pictures and your description I suspect it's Alaskine, a mix of wool and silk but rayon is also an option, plus others. Good luck, it's a nice dress.
