Just downloaded a Mandy Dyer mystery from Amazon to my droid phone. Going to start tonight. Thanks for the wonderful list!

I just was sent and reviewed a nice novel designed for the tween set, but a nice read for me too:

The Time-Traveling Fashionista, by Bianca Turetsky (Amazon listing)

(I wrote a review of the book for my blog, here)

BTW (I believe this is still true): If anyone chooses to purchase anything from Amazon and clicks on the Amazon link in the list at the top of the page to get to the Amazon site and make the purchase, the VFG gets a small amount of money.

"the Book of Love" by Phillipa Fioretti (the novel's character sometimes wore vintage pieces the author found on my website!)

'A Vintage Affair' by Isobel Wolff - a good chunk of this book is about a lady opening a vintage clothes shop.

Shortly after I started this thread Amazon.com sent notice of the availability of these titles:

A Veiled Deception (A Vintage Magic Mystery)
Larceny and Lace (A Vintage Magic Mystery) both by Annette Blair

Is this a new genre?

Hey, I didn't say they were all great literature.

This a bit of vague memory, but back in the 80s, I used to love trashy Jackie Collins and Judith Kranz novels.

I really can't remember which book this was, but distinctly remember the cash-strapped herione passing herself off as moneyed when socialising in high society by wearing vintage clothing, which she could afford to buy and so look fabulously dressed amongst the well-heeled rich folk. There was a plot twist where another woman recognised that her party dress was over 40 years old and realised that she must be hard-up.

I think it was "Princess Daisy"!

I LOVED this book and highly recommend it to anyone that loves fashion, history and love.
