Vintage Fashion Expo - Santa Monica CA

Just got back.

It's a little overwhelming to see all this beautiful vintage stuff in one place...Lots of eye candy!

It was cool to see the actress who plays Joan on Mad Men trying on hats, and I also saw Starbuck from Battlestar Gallactica.

I didn't find Sandra though - maybe next time!
 
well...did you get anything? as the seasoned shopper you are, how did it compare to say, some of the big flea markets?
I've had people tell me, it's "just OK and way over priced" is this true?
 
Having been there in the past I'd say that its pretty pricey- but its not a cheap show to do.
Definately more expensive than the fleas, but the clientele knows that & (for the most part) probably wouldn't attend fleas anyway.
The selection is also much more precise & edited than you'd find at a flea - which is why many of the buyrs don't mind the higher prices. That "editing" costs time & money ;)
