Vintage German Shoes

I just posted part of this in the "are you new? introduce yourself" forum... but I thought maybe I'd just post the same thing in a new thread too:

"I just signed up and I am specifically trying to figure out more information about a pair of shoes that I have - they are Westland brand, made in Germany... and I think they are fairly old (like way before Josef Seibel brand bought Westland brand which was 1996?) but I can't find any information about them and I am wondering if this would be a good place for me to ask questions and get answers about the shoes? :) Anybody?"

MORE: These have a very interesting vibram sole... it looks like a crepe sole.. but it's not squishy- it's a rugged sole (I think made to be hard? not squishy like gum rubber). I have never seen a vibram sole like this. Maybe a re-sole?
I am not sure how well you can see the shoes in the image... but the material of the uppers is a suede/nubuck and has a perforated design. It's really cool!

I think they are from the 1970's, and the soles are rubber. Are the soles marked Vibram? to my knowledge it is a brand of sole, rather than a type.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, they are marked 'Vibram'.
I wonder if the shoes were sold new with this sole, or if it replaced the original... maybe there is no way to know for sure...
I appreciate the input you have provided me very much!
