A photo from a 1939 edition of National Geographic shows a model dressed in a gown made entirely out of grapefruit peels. It was made to celebrate Rio Grande Delta's harvest season.

Ooh, I like that. It reminds me a little of the duct tape dresses people make for proms, from the way the pieces are shaped and fitted, but this gown is so much nicer of course.
that is really marvelous!!! and it's funny ~ those duct tape dresses popped right into my brain, too! lol...
