vintage gun ash trays

So while thrift shopping today I came across this gun ash tray that looked a lot like one my grandma has from her 15th birthday 54 years ago. I was worried it was actually hers because she's in the beginning stages of altzimers (we've already had to buy back some family antiques from a dealer she works with) so I grabbed it. Turns out she still has hers and this is just a similar one I was wondering if anyone could tell if they are around the same age the top picture is my grandmas the bottom one is the one I found today. Both are shaped the same and neither have a makers mark. Thank you to all who look =)

Here's bigger pictures I can't get anymore from my grandma I had to take this one by sneaking it. Can upload more detailed pictures of the one I found today if that helps though =)

They appear to be cast from the same mould, but glazed differently and with different transfers for the writing.

It's likely therefore they are from the same maker - unless someone produced blanks and different companies glazed them - but that seems less likely? It's hard to know how long they were produced for, might have been for many years, but it seems likely they aren't too far apart in age.

If you google Derringer Gun Ashtray you will see several more in a few different variations of colour and writing, and also other types of gun, eg Colt, in a very similar style of ashtray, which must also be from the same maker. Most listings say c1950s which seems about right to me (not that this is my area of expertise). A few state that they are made in Japan, and show a tiny 'Japan' sticker, which has probably been lost on your pair. As so many have survived, they must have been produced in large numbers.

Thank you so much for your time and response. I would of never thought of looking at the gloss. I've never seen one of these except at my grandparents but I guess I've never really looked either. Again thank you so much =) this one is very important to me and it is amazing to have an almost twin of my grandmas.
