Vintage handbag from Cordoba

[The Vintage Vendeuse]

The only marking on this handbag is the one shown, "Cordoba". I assume it means Cordoba, Spain. So would that make this a genuine Cordovan leather handbag? How does one know if it is shell Cordovan? I'm thinking 60's on this item, please let me know if I'm off. It's beautifully made and the leather is soooo smooth.

donna, i don't know anything at all about this make of bag but i just wanted to say how fabulous it is. thats my type of bag for sure and i love the brass feet that are screwed into the base, a lot of attention to detail.

It's a lovely style bag and the handle makes me think 1960's.

It measures 10.5" wide, 7.5" tall (w/out handles), and 3.5" deep at the base. The handles are 5.5" by 4.5".

Barbara, what makes you think early 50s? (I know so little about handbags, I'm just going with my gut on the style of this one.)
