Vintage hat care

I'm trying to figure out how to care for my Lilli of California hat. I've included photos of front, back, side, & inside.
#1. I thought it was felted wool, but the fine hairs make me think it may be fur. Can you tell: Is it wool or fur?
#2. Regarding the ribbon that is at the back, I've steamed it but it is still sticking out. Should I glue or stitch it down - or is that part of the look, to stick out slightly?
Thank you in advance!

Your lovely hat is made of felt, but not wool. It is a fur felt, with a brushed nap to give it slightly "furry" appeal and what looks like also a panne' effect to the finish. I am not sure what you mean about the ribbon. Which photo are you referring to? Also, no never use glue on a hat unless there is no other way. If you do need glue, choose a water based glue, not a hot glue or strong glue.

Thank you so much! This helps immensely. It's incredibly soft, but I couldn't figure out the texture. And thank you for the tips regarding the glue. As for the ribbon, in the photo showing the back, you can see the two ends of the ribbon are joined together and sticking out toward the camera. In the photo from the side, you can see that ribbon "tail" on the left side of the photo (which is the back of the hat). Should it look like that?
