I am trying to figure out this hat...what type is it?

And it feels like felt, but then it has sort of fur like angora?

Has a Union label I can't for the life of me read...

Amy New York designed by Dayton's...Flemish Body made in Italy.

Any help?

HI,

You have an early 1960s hat, sort of a bubble toque in style. It is made of a novelty fur-felt, with a lot of what is probably rabbit hair in the mix. The felt is from Italy, the hat was made in USA. Dayton's was the department store which sold the hat, Amy NY is the millinery maker's name or trademark name. The Union label simply designated that the hat was made using Union labor.
