Vintage HERMES heavy silk...scarf?

Hello,
I recently inherited a number of vintage scarves, but 1 in particular is baffeling to me. It has the original Hermes-Paris, Made in France label, is a stunning study in blue, all on a heavy silk. It measures 44" long. Is it considered a "scarf" ,( I actually have 2 hand rolled edged vintage 35x35's, this is nothing like those, very thick/heavy in comparison) or a "wrap" or something else entirely? Just exqusite, the dye changes from dark to light overall.
Thanks, J NY

I consider the long ones to be evening wraps, to go over your shoulders/arms and drape at either side of a gown. The ombre effect is very nice.

I am trying to value it, but cannot find another comp, in your business I am sure you come across items that are unusual, and must evaluate independently, is there a resource I can refer to for a rough guide? She had many vintage and unique scarves, most silk, very dainty to 60's awesomness...I do not rely on ebay as a value guide as one can value anything as they see fit...Thanks for your speedy reply, I have found this site a wealth of information, from those that actually have the knowledge to give advice, and will refer all further qestions here...uptate NY is a vintage textile/garment treasure trove! ( not to mention my Gma's attic! Loved her style!) TY, J NY

I've never been into scarves I'm afraid so I can't suggest anything. Another member may know of speciality site. You can look at the prices various types of scarves are being listed at on sites with vintage categories such as Etsy and Ruby Lane. For a definate answer many auction houses will give you a valuation, some by e-mail with photos, but these can change once the item is seen in hand.
