This is a long flapper type necklace I purchased in a lot
from an estate auction.

Wire links appear to be hand done and the beads are
glass. The smaller round and round flat look almost like
milkglass. The larger square beads have a design in them
that I'm pretty sure is not painted on. It appears to
be right in the glass. Each square bead is slightly
different.

Is there a name to this type of bead or glasswork?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I agree with what Carrie has said. These are called lampwork beads. Art glass is a generic term used by some sellers but is helpful to use as a key search word. Are the smaller round ones translucent?
