I struggle to date kimonos/robes. This is a fully lined robe. The exterior fabric feels like silk or rayon. It has an interior waistband with hook and eyes (see pics). No tags. Thoughts?
I think that's a dress, rather than a robe or kimono (which is much less structured). The waist tape and finishing are really nice - it seems to have batwing sleeves and pleating into the waist with a sash, which might be why you think it's a robe.
Can you tell what fabric the lining is? I think it's '50s.
That's super interesting! I assumed because of the draped shape it was a robe, but you're right that it does have structure. The lining fabric is very similar to the exterior fabric--it's a drapey crepe material that I'm not 100% sure what it is (it's soft and fine, which is why I'm thinking silk or rayon). The lining isn't acetate.
