Hi, All. Having trouble dating this men's suit. Gray herringbone with red pinstripes. Wide lapels. Belted back. Unusual pockets. Strikes me as 70s, but I'm still learning. The font on the labels looks older. Thanks, again, for any help anyone can give me.

Adam

Adam, I think wide lapels appeared in the late 60s and stayed around through the 1970s. With that, the straight leg trousers and the Union label I would guess late 60s into mid 1970s. But there are others here who have much more knowledgeable about men's clothing than I do. Let's see what they have to say.

I agree that your suit is late 60s into 70s. I have had a few suits from Barrister and they are usually nice quality and lean toward the interesting side. Your suit is HIGHLY desirable with the belted back, saddle bag pockets, and good pattern. The pants look to have frogmouth pockets which is a feature that has roots in mod men's pants. You should do well with this one should you choose to sell.
