vintage necklace??

I found this adorable vintage necklace. I would like to take the pendant off and hang it from a longer chain. The reversible pendant is signed "Carol" on both sides. I am just curious how old this is or what Carol is this? Any info on this is appreciated. Thanks so much!

I agree, very cool, and such a wonderful "moment" of time in fashion. I agree with 70's, I would guess very early 70's, possibly 1969-1971. Reminds me of Peter Max, etc. Also, the "hoop/neck ring" (or whatever you call them) style necklaces were very popular circa 1970-1971, and we sometimes wore the rings with hippie style scarves attached and wore them as tops. No bras of course which was quite scandalous!
