Vintage Norfolk Jacket

I have got a great vintage men's Norfolk herringbone jacket. What would be the date on this? Fully lined. It has a Salem Sportswear label. Thanks in advance for your help!

I thought a Norfolk only had the half-belt in the back.

It is a great looking jacket, looking 70s to me but thats just a guess. Can you show the label? Any union labels in the pockets or hidden in a seam?

Yep, from the collar width, 1970s. Norfolk can be half or full belted. They often have pleated or vented backs for movement.

It could be 30s, but need to see the label if there is one.

I'm getting this
RN Type: WPL
RN Number: 12884
Legal Name: SALEM SPORTSWEAR CO
Company Name: SALEM SPORTSWEAR CO
Business Type: IMPORTER,WHOLESALER,MANUFACTURING
Address Line 1: PO BOX 520
City: SALEM
State Code: MO
Zip: 65560
Product Line:
Issued Date: 06-AUG-1998

BUT, of course this isnt from 1998!! Between the lapels and the label I'm thinking early 70s as well.

Ang~ I had run the same WPL into the system too, why does that show 1998? I KNOW this is not a 98 jacket. But sometimes, most of the time, that little RN-WPL # lookup is not correct information.

1998 is a default date on all of the RN numbers issued before 1998 when the the database was created online. The only time you get a true date is when a company was issued a number after 1998.
