Vintage or Modern?

I found this Hawaiian shirt and I am wondering if it is modern or vintage. There are no serged seams, material feels like cotton and the buttons are a gold painted plastic. The label reads "Island Casuals." Any help would be appreciated.

I'm leaning to 80s or 90's with the style of drawing and label manufacture, also the coin style buttons. Does it not have any other labels though?

Are you sure the buttons are plastic?
They look like the typical metal "coin" buttons on early 1960s shirts.
The label could be that old as well.

Melanie: there are no other labels and as far as I can tell, and no evidence that there ever were any.

MS: upon further inspection, the buttons appear to be foil covered metal or plastic, they are a lot colder than plastic buttons on other shirts I have so maybe they are metal?

Those buttons are common on 60s Hawaiian shirt, and that tag looks very 60s to me as well. There would be additional care and content information if it were later.

Thank you all for the help with dating. I actually did a little more looking and found a dress in the exact same print as the shirt. The dress is from the 1960s.
