Hello, I just bought this Pierre Cardin dress, but I couldn't find any information. The tag is very similar to those from the 1960s, but the style of the dress reminds me of dresses from the late 1970s or early 1980s. Do you have more information? Thanks in advance :)

The overlocked seams in a contrasting color shown in the last photo look later to me, early 80s…?

That style of pleated shoulder, that sort-of futuristic Blade Runner sharp shoulder is very 80s, even if there isn't a shoulder pad. There was also a "sack" dress style that came in the early 80s - kind of 20s influenced, dropped waist. I seem to have a vision of Molly Ringwald being styled like that in 80s films. Also, with Pierre Cardin being licensed out to many manufacturers, we just might not have an example of every label out there.

I think it could be '60s but you need more information:
- are there any other labels?
- do you know what the measurements are?

If it is '80s there will be shoulder pads, even if they're small early '80s ones. I had a similar style dress in 1983, it was very slim in the body and had a '20s look like this one.

I agree - the style looks more 80s, or perhaps late 70s. Does it have shoulder pads?

Good evening everyone,
I received the dress and it does indeed have shoulder pads, so it dates back to the early 1980s. Thanks for your answer ;)
