Vintage Purse Frame

My husband was metal detecting out here in Arizona and found a metal hand bag purse frame. We don't know if it is a chatelaine or sporran frame. It has two lions facing each other at the top of the clasp area and looks like a crown. We are in the process of restorning it. The fabric of the purse in the picture is what my husband is making for the purse.

Any help would be appreciated.

What fun, to have found an old purse frame, and such a pretty one, while metal detecting!

What does the chain handle look like? If there's a ring at the top, it would have been a chatelaine purse. And are there any markings or hallmarks inside the frame? (If you can provide pictures of these things, that would be very helpful).

When you say you're restoring it, does that mean you've polished it? (It certainly looks that way--very bright and shiny!)

Also, what is the size of the purse? It looks to be a fairly small size, relative to the hand that's holding it...

there was no chain attached and it isn't silver. It looks to be some type of metal. I haven't found any hallmarks on it, but will look again tonight along with measuring it. My husband did straighten it out some and polished it.
It was exciting when he brought it home.
