Vintage Ralph Lauren help!

I recently came across this beautiful wool Ralph Lauren coat thrifting. Surprisingly it was my size. Yay for me!
I would love to find out more Information about it. I love Ralph Lauren but I know very limited history about labels/lines.
Im assuming it's vintage by the tag, since it's not a current style I've seen.
Would love any help and knowledge anyone is willing to share!

The polo player logo was introduced 1974 too...
It looks early 80s to me 1984ish?
